Report: Nottingham Forest interested in Nantes star Moses Simon

Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Moses Simon as Steve Cooper’s men continue their push to overhaul their squad this summer, according to a report from Foot Mercato.

Forest have certainly been one of the most intriguing sides in the Premier League since sealing promotion. They have already welcomed a raft of new signings.

A lot of the changes were necessary. Forest had several of their promotion heroes leave the City Ground after that amazing day at Wembley. But it does feel as though there is hardly anyone left for Forest to be linked with.

Foot Mercato is now claiming that there is interest in Simon. His contract with Nantes expires in two years. And with that, the newly-promoted side are looking into whether a deal could be possible.

Nottingham Forest interested in Moses Simon

Simon would be another incredibly exciting signing for Cooper’s side. He has an impressive record from his spells in Belgium and France.

In Ligue 1, he has scored 17 goals and provided 18 assists in 90 appearances. He is also incredibly versatile. Most of his appearances have come out on the left wing. But he has also featured a lot as a second striker.

And it would likely disappoint plenty of their Premier League rivals if they could secure his signature. Simon himself said that Leeds wanted him in January. And they have been linked once again this summer.

Meanwhile, Newcastle are also admirers of the winger.

He has been described as a ‘perfect‘ wide-man. And Mauricio Pochettino once said that his PSG side ‘couldn’t handle’ him.

Obviously, there are going to be concerns about how all of the new signings gel together. But Simon would be another exciting addition for Forest if they can get a deal across the line.
