The main features of this car are the use of a carrier chassis and a glass/polyester body originally made in the Chappe and Gessalin workshops. The positioning of the 4-cylinder cast iron engine with 5 bearings in the rear overhang allows a very good mass distribution. Equipped with 2 Weber twin carburettors, the 1600 S model developed 125 DIN hp and reached a speed of 215 km/h. Very quickly, the A110 became the benchmark for rally cars. In 1971 it became the most successful model, winning many prestigious titles, including the famous Monte Carlo Rally. The A110 1600 S was equipped with the Renault 16 TS engine.
