I teach a Studio Art 1 at a very large high school. I struggle for space to store stretched, or board canvas. This paper stands up to both, oil and acrylic paint, with no degradation or buckling. Students tape the edges and can create a crisp clean border without tearing the paper. Canvas paper also lends itself to an easy presentation with a mat.

These tablets are great. The acrylic paint goes on smooth, covers easily, and it's easy to use both sides. The pages don't warp as they dry. I ordered 4 tablets and they came wrapped tightly in plastic. The corners are perfect. I would recommend them to my art loving friends.

This paper is fantastic for quick oil studies. I've tried canvas pads before, but those had such a strong weave pattern and always ended up wrinkling because they're so floppy. This paper still has a subtle canvas-like weave, but it is much smoother (the back side barely has texture at all) and paint goes down wonderfully. I actually prefer it to many of the more expensive, fancier surfaces. The paper stays perfectly flat when using oils, since solvents don't cause paper to warp like water does.
I've also done finished work on these and they look great. I wouldn't worry about the "oil rots paper" adage with these. I fully expect them to outlive me.

My feelings were more mixed when using these for acrylics. They are paper, after all, so large washes will cause the paper to warp. I've done a couple awesome acrylic paintings on them, but I can't say they're my favorite surface for acrylic. They're just ok. The surface is quite slick compared to, say, watercolor paper, which you may or may not like.

* Note: my pad actually just says "Acrylic" on it, not "Oil and Acrylic", but I bought it from this page and the cover is the same color, so they must be the same thing - there was probably just a name change at some point.

I recently took an online oil painting workshop. I haven’t used oils since college so I bought this pad to practice on rather than actual canvases. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the paper held up for blending colors and using oils and mediums. Very pleased!
