Very Textured Paper for this project
aniEste201· Opinión proporcionada por dickblick.com · 9 de noviembre de 2020
I'm not qualified to rate this paper being I'm a nubi to water color works. For the project I utilized this paper for, my inexperience resulted in realizing that a smoother texture should of been utilized. No fault to Canson or the paper choices. The various techniques I utilized with regard to water color was exceptional. Prewetting, applied coloring saturation and wet lifting all performed well. My only issue was graphite shadowing where the papers' texture hindered smooth transitioning. Again this is no fault of Cansons'paper but my inexperience with this paper.
I would buy this paper again

I use this paper for my watercolor paintings and I love the texture. It grabs the water so you don't get the issue of it sitting in a puddle on top of the paper creating weird lines and effects. I does start linting a little bit when you brush over it too many times with too much water but not always. I also do get some hard water lines with it sometimes but that happens with almost every watercolor paper I have from time to time. For the price of the paper on this website, it's definitely worth buying. It's not up there with Arches but I would put it close to Legion Stonehenge Aqua paper, close, not equal. It's does a great job for the price and I will definitely buy it again!
Awesome Hot Press
Dahlia· Opinión proporcionada por dickblick.com · 2 de febrero de 2018
The hot press has a slight velvety texture to it - kind of like extremely smooth cold press. To me, this is the best of both worlds. It's smooth enough for ink linework and details, but handles washes and gradients like a good cold-press paper. My washes on this hot press are almost as smooth (if not as smooth) and even as on my Arches cold press. The 140lb dries completely flat after washes. It's perfect for gouache too, with just the right amount of tooth. I've been wanting to experiment on more papers, but honestly I don't see the point anymore. This is everything I need. Bummer it's so pricey.

Couple notes: the surface is a touch delicate, and masking tape seemed to damage the surface a bit. This is also a staining paper - it doesn't lift a whole lot (great for layers though).
