Julie Driscoll, Brian Auger & the Trinity - BBC Sessions (1967-1969)

I've recently posted two stray tracks albums for Julie Driscoll, Brian Auger & the Trinity. With that done, now I can post an album of their BBC sessions. But note that when I made those stray tracks albums, I used every song I could find that weren't on the band's two studio albums, including some BBC performances. So I haven't used the exact BBC performances I put there here as well. Instead, these are generally the best songs from those studio albums and singles.

Sadly, like too many 1960s musical artists these days, this band's BBC recordings still remain entirely unreleased (unless you count "grey market" releases, which I don't). Also, I couldn't find some key songs I figured belonged in a collection like this (such as "Save Me," which they frequently did live). So I went looking for other TV or radio appearances and added the good songs I could find from those. All of those performances also remain officially unreleased (again, unless you could the grey market releases). It seems this band was especially popular in France, because most of the extra songs I found come from French TV shows.

The sound quality for these is usually good, but not great. Some are a bit muddy. Also, a handful of the actual BBC performances suffered the usual problem of BBC DJs talking over the beginnings or ends of songs. You can see which ones I fixed due to the "[Edit]" markings in their names. I used the X-Minus sound editing program to wipe the talking while keeping the underlying music.

This album is 55 minutes long. This band never released any live album, so this can serve as a substitute.

UPDATE: On November 16, 2021, I updated the mp3 download file. The last two songs, "Indian Rope Man" and "The Flesh Failures - Let the Sunshine In" had been bonus tracks due to poor sound quality. But I found better versions of the same performances that were good enough to make me remove the bonus track status. (Chronologically, they happen to be the last two songs here.) At the same time, I found slightly better versions of some other songs, and upgraded those too.

For the two stray tracks albums I made, I used cover photos of only Driscoll and Auger. But for this one, I found a photo of the whole band. I don't know when or when it's from exactly. I changed the color of the background curtains a bit to better fit with the other colors.

    1. Can't you figure out how to look up mp3 tag info? Google it! I use Windows 10. If I just click on a mp3 file, it shows me the basic info at the bottom of the folder window. There are free programs for it too.
