Ilog is a second class municipality in the province of Negros Occidental, Philippines. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 54,423 people. Dancalan belongs to the barangays of Municipality Ilog which are in the outlying area. Located along the highway City Of Kabankalan - City of Sipalay Dancalan marks the importantant crossing towards Candoni.

Although Dancalan is only four kilometers from the Poblacion of Ilog the main center of life and business is the Component City City Of Kabankalan which is 13 kilometers towards the east and could be reached within 15 minutes by Jeepney and tricycle.

To earn their livelihood the people of Dancalan are engaged in different industries like commerce and trade, cottage industries and farming, mainly rice and sugar. The center is still marked by the main highway crossing City Of Kabankalan - City of Sipalay - Candoni. Around this crossing, where tricycles and tricycats wait under the shadow of trees, all kind of small shops present their offers. Every Sunday morning the local merchants organize a public market in the streets behind the Immaculate Conception Church. It's a well accepted invitation to join, buy some fresh food and exchange news with neighbors and friends.

Immaculate Conception Church is only one of the representatives of Dancalan's religious life. There are also Iglesia Filipina Independiente and SHALOM Dancalan First Baptist Church.

Additional to its kindergarten hosted in Iglesia Filipina Independiente Church Dancalan provides three schools: The Dancalan Elementary School and the Dancalan Private Academy (DPA), both located right hand along the highway towards Candoni, and the Immaculate Conception Academy (ICA) which is seated right hand along the highway towards City of Sipalay.

In March, facing the end of classes, the Iglesia Filipina Independiente Church celebrates the IFI CLC Day (Iglesia Filipina Independiente Children's Learning Center).

It is followed by a day filling event, the Foundation Day Celebration of Dancalan Elementary School. After an opening parade in the morning children of all ages show dance performances in colorful dresses.

The annual town fiesta is held on December 8. It is called PINTAVERDE Festival and presents several tribes of the barangay dancing in the streets of Danacalan in their colorful customs to staccato beats of native drums.

One of the famous landmarks in Dancalan is Mount Kanlaoron that rises high above the barangay. Mount Kanlaoron is a beautiful, conically formed mountain with a christian cross placed on its peak. Visitors who travel from City Of Kabankalan to Dancalan are wellcomed by the cross which could be seen even from far away distances.

Tourists visit Dancalan mainly because of its well known cave system which is composed of three caves: Cueva Kabog, Cueva Tubig and Cueva Intsik. Another famous tourist spot is the Andulauan Bird Watching Sanctuary which is a home to migratory birds. Source
