Calatrava

Calatrava, officially the Municipality of Calatrava, is a 1st class municipality in the province of Negros Occidental, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 80,624 people.

    I worked here from 1987 to 1992 as a laboratory technician then quality control analyst. This is my first job were i learned the trade, and how to earn my monthly paycheck.     This property is an offshore (reclaimed) property therefore no one can claim ownership. However, the person responsible for building this beach house was the late Don Isaias Menchaca one of the heirs of the Menchaca Family who are the original owners of Menchaca Hermanos. The Airstrip of Hacienda Refugio was also thru the efforts of Don Isaias and was further utilized and developed by Don Roberto Llantada.

    While geographically located in Calatrava, Negros Occidental, it is nearer to San Carlos City which is about 6 km. away to the west; as compared to Calatrava proper which is about 10 km. to the east.
