FAQ:

What and who is South Dakota Pheasant Ventures LLC. ?

South Dakota Pheasant Ventures is a Pheasant hunting lodge in Iroquois South Dakota. The Lodge is owned and operated by Rob Nelson and a group of partners. We offer complete guided hunts, lodging and food. We cater to corporate as well as friends and family groups.

Can we bring our own dogs?

Yes, we would love for you to bring your own trained dogs.  There is nothing like experiencing South Dakota pheasant hunting for a bird dog.  As long as you can keep control of your dog at all times. E collar is highly recommended.  We have a heated area for your dogs to be in a kennel while you stay with us.

How much land is available to hunt?

We have thousands of acres of land that we lease, and are able to hunt.  Typically we try to let our land rest from hunting pressure at least one week in between hunts.

How far are the fields from the Lodge?

The closest fields are right out the front door. The rest of the fields are with in a 20 mile radius from the lodge!

Do we drive our own vehicles through the fields?

Yes, although we can accommodate you if you do not have a suitable vehicle.  We have found that it is most comfortable for our guest to have all their gear in their own vehicle and then follow us around. Four wheel drive trucks are recommended.

What is the terrain?

We hunt a variety of different fields.  Some are row crops with a nice lane to walk through.  Others are sloughs and cattails, where there are no trails and you must bust through the cover.  Just about every field has an easier option, if someone has trouble walking.
