Dobratice village lies in area around Beskydy 7,5 km east from Frýdek-Místek. Village sections are: Dobratice, Hranice, Bukovice, Amerika, Podlesí, Šprochovice.
The administration territory has size 70 ha. The village is in altitude 623m and has 1046 inhabitants since 31-st of October 2005.

Village sections are Dobratice, Bukovice, Hranice, Podlesí and Šprochovice. Village has common boundary with villages: Komorní Lhotka, Nižní Lhoty, Vyšní Lhoty, Nošovice, Vojkovice, Horní Tošanovice. Through the village run streams: Říčka, Holčina, Lučina, Zbojičný and Tošenůvka.

Village is attainable on road or by train – railway stop Dobratice pod Prašivou. Bus lines connect the village with Frýdek-Místek, Český Těšín and others villages on the trace. In the village are four bus stops.

Village history
A municipal chronicle found a headteacher Jan Poloch in 1930 ex parte of municipal council. Dobratice and Bukovic rises isn’t possible to found because of fountain absence. In calendar 1992 of Dobrá is mentioned that these villages were found during George from Poděbrady command 1458 - 1471.

Dobratice and Bukovice are mentioned in files from the beginning of 17-th century when Prince Adam Václav Těšínský in 1602 gave "Teilungs- zettel" Horní Domaslavice and half of Tošanovice, Dobratice and Bukovice to Bohuslav Tluk from Tošanovice. At this time was in Dobratice a manor which belongs to the upper-domaslavský manor. The village belongs to the domaslavská parish till 1868.

In 17-th century was here an inheritable master Karel Saint Genois. He used to be Frydek native son Ondřej Josef Bienek, who was ordained to priest. In 1758 was here a master Kryštof Vilém Marklovský from Žebrače. In 18-th century was the Dobratice manor owner baron Kašnic who lived in wooden chateau (now no.27). Bukovice belongs to Dobratice manor also. Dobratice a Bukovice pass over from baron Kašnic to lower-tošanovsky manor. Different owners were so often from this time that in manor archive isn’t any more notes.

Municipal sign and flag were given to Dobratice thanks of award of Czech Republic parliament by Chairman Lubomír Zaorálek in 3-th of December 2004 and these municipal signs were ordained in St. James and Phillip church by general vicar Marcel Tesarčík in Dobratice 1-st of May 2005. The sign symbology makes a figure of plough which presents a transcription of historical village signs. The figure of beech spray with five leaves is sign presented Bukovice village and its local sections. Golden and blue colour presents village historical competency to Tešín princedom otherwise to Těšín Silesian region.

For recreations and sport are in the village football ground, marked tourist trace Dobratice - Prašivá and a gym in school.
