六、历史文化

1.历史

A few about 7,500-year-old pre-ceramic stone objects and one about 4,500-year-old pottery from the time of the comb ceramics have been found in the streams. Finnish wilderness people were already moving in the Virta region during the Iron Age, as evidenced by the spearheads and pieces of swords found on the outskirts of the village of Härkönen. Lapps are also thought to have moved in these areas in the early Middle Ages, after which the people of Upper Satakunta began to engage in extensive wilderness walking here. The farmers of Pirkkala, Vesilahti and Ylä-Sastamala had batch ownership. King Gustav of Vaasa ceased to own property in the middle of the 16th century.

The first settlers settled in Virtainkylä, Vaskivesi, Liedenpohja and Hauhuu after the middle of the 16th century. In 1570, Virra had 25 tax-paying houses, and by the beginning of the 18th century, the number of houses had risen to 47. The streams originally belonged to the parish of Ruovesi, which was separated from Suur-Pirkkala, until it was annexed to the newly established Vaasa county in 1776. The first church in Virta was built in the 1650s.

In 1858, Emperor Alexander II ordered the governor of Vaasa county to carry out the necessary research in the Virta region to establish the city. The Finnish Senate prepared three draft town plans, but the establishment of the city was not implemented. In 1886, a wool spinning mill was established in Killinkoski, which was turned into a wood grinder in 1911. Thanks to the community formed around the factory, Killinkoski developed into an agglomeration the size of the church village of Virtai.

During the Finnish War, the guerrilla department led by the midwife Jakob Johan Roth and Sergeant Carl Johan Spoof looted the stocks of Russian troops (Roth and Spoof's guerrilla expedition). During the Civil War, almost continuous battles were fought in Vaskivesi in February and March 1918, and as a result the Reds had to retreat from this northernmost base on their front.

At the beginning of 1973, the north-western part of the municipality of Pohjaslahti, which was closed at that time and was mainly connected to Vilppula, was connected to Virta, e.g. Monoskylä. Virri entered the primary school system in the early fall of 1975.

The town grew rapidly in the middle years of the twentieth century, and by 1950 the population reached more than 12,000. Virrat acquired town status in 1977, although it had received the right to hold markets three years earlier, in 1974. More recently the population level has been adversely impacted by the drift of employment opportunities and people to the larger towns.

2. 文化体育

Virrat is Finland's "official" Midsummer city - the trademark was registered on July 31, 2002. The Midsummer Declaration is sent from Virta every Midsummer Eve at 18.00. The poetic Midsummer declaration was written by the Estonian Markku Sorvar. In previous years, the declaration has been heard on radio and in 2007 it was broadcast live on Yle TV2. Virtain's reputation as a versatile summer cottage community has grown with the title. A significant part of Pirkanmaa's holiday homes is located in Virra. In 1984–1994, Virant also hosted Rantarock, which gathered a young audience of ten thousand people during Midsummer.

七、其他信息

In January 1979, a fire broke out in a nursing home, killing 27 elderly people. This is Finland's second most deadly fire after the 1966 fire in the Lapinlahti municipal home. A monument was unveiled in 1989 on the site of a destroyed nursing home in the village of Jäähdyspohja. The monument to the bear bearer Martti Kitunen, unveiled in 1936, is located in the village of Kotala.
