Lachhmangarh Fort

Lachhmangarh or Laxmangarh is a town in Sikar district of Rajasthan. The fort is among the most imposing forts in Shekhawati region. Lachhmangarh commands a bird’s eye view of the Sikar town that was modeled to resemble the city plan of Jaipur. Founded in the early 19th century by Raja Lachhman Singh of Sikar, the town also has beautiful havelis.

Laxmangarh town was setup inn 1862. The Lachhmangarh fort is actually a small fortress and is unique in the entire world because it is built upon scattered pieces of huge rocks. The fort is a privately owned property. It is possible to climb up the ramp to a temple here which is open to the public, and the view from the ramp can be quite fascinating.
