The Withersfield War Memorial is in the form of an obelisk made of Portland stone on a two stepped base, surmounted by a small cross, and stands on the Village Green. 15 names are commemorated as having lost their lives in the First World War, and 1 for the Second World War.
On the above image, 10 of the names can be seen. For the face of the memorial on which there are a further 5 names, including that of a soldier of the Yorkshire Regiment, Rita Burr (<ritaburrke666@outlook.com>) has kindly provided a close-up. A photo of this face is shown below.

6th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment, formerly 4556 Suffolk Regt. Son of William
and Martha A. Bradnam, of Queen St., Withersfield, Newmarket. Killed 29 September
1917. Aged 28.
Born Haverhill (Suffolk), Enlisted Haverhill, Resided Withersfield (Suffolk).
Buried MENDINGHEM MILITARY CEMETERY.

states that he was actually born in Withersfield and lived in the village
all of his life.)
