About this movie

Tianguistengo, a village with more than 450 years of history nestled in the Sierra Alta Hidalgo, is evangelized by the Augustinians Order in 1554, creating a unique cultural syncretism that gives rise to one of the most iconic traditions of the region: “La Farisea“ (The Pharisee) , a representation that is been carried out year after year, forming a strong sense of belonging in the inhabitants of this place that has seldom been documented in its entirety.

This documentary portrays from the point of view of those who make this tradition possible, the chronicle, the habits, the efforts and the passion of all those people who are involved in all aspects to give life to this colorful, emblematic and mystical Representation of Easter.

This testimonial work was supported by the different associations involved for the accomplishment of the various activities such as Group of Biblical Representations, pharisees and ecclesiastical authorities.
