With no hash to go to I left the house late for a leisurely run in the general direction I had planned had there been a hash. There is an especially pleasant wood below the manor farm at Burderop Park with an intense little climb to do at a section called the ‘Ladder Hill.’ After this, I cut through the private park and hopped a wall to continue on to a bridleway just south of Hodson emerging from fields just a bit southwest of Chiseldon. I made my way to the Patriot’s Arms only to find it stinking with hashers. Poop…they said they would be at the Plough.
I took my Cornish Knockers out to the fortress and settled into siege mode; with provisions and a plan to make a cunning retreat, I refueled and made my way back through their midst and off to a more civilised venue the far side of Chiseldon. The run would be interrupted by stops at the Plough, the Baker’s Arms, and a whisky salute to the Sun before I could pick up my order at Argos and drag my way back to the house.
