Le Coin Tranquille is a family-run site well placed for visits to the Savoie regions and the Alps. It is an attractive, well-maintained site of 192 grass pitches (178 for touring units), all with 10A electricity. Neat hedges of hydrangea separate them, flowering shrubs and a range of trees make a lovely environment doubly enhanced by the rural aspect and marvellous views across to the mountains.

A central modern, clean toilet block serves the whole site, and in summer, two smaller blocks are opened. The reception area is modern and is adjacent to the shop, bar/restaurant and information centre. There are two pools, one outdoor and one indoor/outdoor - both heated, a children’s play area and a second outdoor bar restaurant area.
The site is set between two lakes and is an ideal location for walking or cycling; they have even produced a selection of comprehensive leaflets on local walks and offer guided walks on Wednesdays in the summer by the owner’s daughter(in English). An excellent and varied entertainment programme for all in July & August, both daytime and evening, is also in place.

The Chartreuse caves near Voiron are well worth a visit, as is the Monastery, and a mountain railway goes to the summit of the Chartreuse Massif. A comprehensive guide in English is given to guests on arrival detailing all the local scenic routes and places of interest.

The central well-appointed sanitary block is well-kept and heated in low season. Accessible Facilities. Two smaller blocks provide facilities in high season. Busy shop. Excellent restaurant. Indoor swimming pool (seasonal). Outdoor heated swimming pool (high season). Bermuda-style shorts are not permitted. Play area. TV and games in the bar. Quiet reading room. Weekly entertainment for children and adults (July/Aug), including live music (not discos). Bicycle hire (limited). WiFi near reception (free).

Directions to Camping le Coin Tranquille

Les Abrets is 70 km. southeast of Lyon at junction of D1006 (previously N6) and D1075 (previously N75). From roundabout in town take N6 towards Chambéry, turning left in just under 2 km. (signed restaurant and camping). Follow signs along country lane for just over 1 km. and entrance is on right.
