Flyer for “The Smart Snake” by LAUTESkollektiv.

Founded in 2019 it consists of the composer Stephanie Haensler and the designer Laura Haensler. At the interface of their disciplines, they make socially relevant topics artistically tangible: contemporary music meets object installation, design questions composition, the audible is reflected in the visible.

Stephanie Haensler received her training at the Zurich University of the Arts in violin and composition. A particular interest is in the dialogue between historical and current music, as well as interdisciplinary forms of thinking and working. As a composer, she has written commissioned works for the Ensemble TaG, the Ensemble Recherche, and the Camerata Zurich, among others. Her works are performed internationally, for example at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival or the Munich Biennale. Stephanie Haensler was awarded a work contribution by the Aargau Board of Trustees in 2019 and is, among other things, a prize winner in the composition competition of the Lucerne Festival / Sonart 2016.

Laura Haensler studied design (MA) at the Zurich University of the Arts. She works as a research assistant there and is a freelance designer. She also conducts research in the areas of food, design and gender. In 2021, her master’s thesis Chips & Cheats will be awarded the iphiGenia Gender Design Award, and in 2022 she will receive a grant from the Aargau Board of Trustees for her research on the model.
