Wu-Tang Clan teasing Batman related project

Something is about to go down in Gotham City.

The Wu-Tang Clan’s official Twitter account has shared a rather odd message.

There is no indication as of yet as to what this is hinting towards, but speculation is running the range of possibilities. Numerous people are pointing to the fact Robert Pattinson has expressed his love for the group numerous times, but it seems far too early for a musical announcement related to The Batman.

With San Diego Comic-Con on the horizon, and Batman getting a lot of attention at the show, it feels like something that will be announced there. And with the DC logo in the corner, and the comic book style art, it seems like it’s a safer bet that this is something to do with the comics than the film.

For those unfamiliar with the Wu-Tang Clan, it’s a hip hop group that was formed in the New York City borough of Staten Island in 1992. It is a fairly large group consisting of RZA, GZA, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Ghostface Killah, Method Man, Raekwon, Masta Killa, Cappadonna, and Ol’ Dirty Bastard before his passing.

This actually wouldn’t be the first time the Wu-Tang have interacted with Batman in some fashion. Method Man contributed a track called “The Riddler” to the Batman Forever soundtrack.

The group also had an Image comic series called The Nine Rings of Wu-Tang in 1999 that saw the members reimagined as mystic martial artists. So the group’s love of comics and pop culture are pretty well established.

We’re super curious as to what is about to happen.
