Estate cottage. Mid C19, for Capt. J H Washington Hibbert. C20 additions and alterations. White brick, with red brick and ashlar dressings. Welsh slate roofs with tile crests to the south ranges and coped gables to the north. 2 external gable stacks with 4 clustered flues, rebuilt in red brick C20. Gothic Revival style. 2 storeys: 2 x 2 bays. Windows to south range are mainly original, with stone mullions and lattice glazing. South range has 2 gables with diaper work and the initials of the Hibbert family. To left, a porch with an elliptical arched doorway set in a coped gable with crest and containing a shield-shaped datestone, possibly 1853. On the left side, a single window, and on the right a similar 3-light one, all with pointed arches. Left gable has a 2-light window on each floor. Right gable has 2 single windows, that to right renewed, and a 2-light window above. These first floor windows have pointed arches. Left return has similar decoration, with a 3-light window to the ground floor and a 2-light window above, both with flat heads. Right return has renewed and inserted windows and door. North range gable has diaper work and Hibbert family initials, with reglazed windows in original openings. 2-light window flanked by single lights, and above, a 3-light window. In the gable over this, a cruciform cusped recess. Rear elevation has a lean-to wooden porch, extended and infilled late C20, flanked by C19 single storey outbuildings. Above, a through-eaves dormer with renewed window.

INTERIOR: 2 winder stairs, one with solid newel, the other with stick balusters and square newels. 2 original 4-panel doors.

The asset was previously listed twice also at List entry 1034933. This entry was removed from the List on 3rd August 2015.
