Tornado in central Iowa damages barn, storms continue in northeast Iowa

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Iowa's News Now) — A tornado damaged barns in central Iowa Sunday afternoon and storms have been producing small hail in northeast Iowa.

Storm chasers captured the tornado and damage to barns near Blairsburg, Iowa, which is close to Webster City.

This tornado was likely weak and brief, but still telling of how these short-lived storms can still cause damage.

The spin associated with these storms prompted a tornado warning in eastern Iowa Sunday evening, but no tornadoes were reported with that near Parkersburg/Allison.

Some additional storms may produce hail and gusty winds as we head through the night.
