Description
Español: Escudo del municipio de Motavita (Boyacá).

"El Escudo se creó en 1988 siendo alcalde el señor Israel Cetina Molina, el cual adopto como escudo municipal cuyo proyecto fue presentado por el Maestro Edgar Montoya y en junio de 1989 se institucionalizo como tal: En la parte superior se encuentra una corona que representa la imagen de la Virgen patrona de Motavita (Nuestra Señora de las Aguas), sobre un fondo verde los símbolos de la minería (representadas por dos picas y casco), y en el fondo rojo está el símbolo de la agricultura representado por tres espigas que nacen de una frondosa mata; en el fondo azul se encuentra la cruz símbolo de la religión católica que predomina y en honor a su nombre “Santa Cruz de Motavita”"
