Ipil is the capital of the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, a 3.5 hours travel from Zamboanga City. “I am running towards the Amazing Race Philippines title,” that plays in my mind because my itinerary was from Zamboanga City to Ipil. Upon arrival, I headed to my pre-selected accommodation first, tidy up, relaxed and start tourist spots hopping. Below are some of the worth to visit spots in the area:

VISIT THE PROVINCIAL CAPITOL OF ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY: I chartered a habal-habal, with a driver, to bring me to the most stunning provincial capitol in the Philippines. Please see the first photo, I know you’ll all agree. Look at those stunning colors, patterns, shapes, and the entire design, they are just perfect.
THE PROMINENT LANDMARK, IPIL ROTUNDA OBELISK: This is situated on the circumferential road from and to Ipil Integrated Bus Terminal. This means that you’ll be passing by this gigantic obelisk if you are leaving or arriving in Ipil. Very noticeable because of its size and unique design.
MODE OF TRANSPORTATION: The most common mode of transport in the area is habal-habal (motorcycle) or tricycle. If you are heading to the nearby municipalities, they have mini-buses, jeepneys and UV Express vans. If you are heading to the nearby provinces and major cities, they also have an integrated bus terminal with regular scheduled trips.
WHERE TO STAY IN IPIL: I choose GV Hotel because it’s the cheapest accommodation saw online and it’s a walking distance from Jolibee, BDO and the bus terminal. For 570 pesos, the room has a toilet and bath, two single beds, cable tv, and a fan (because it’s a fan room).
HOW TO GET HERE: The nearest airport is in Dipolog City, Pagadian City and Zamboanga City. No worries, buses have regular scheduled trips to Ipil. Then, you can take Rural Transit buses; Ipil to Dipolog is 5.5 hours, Ipil to Pagadian is 3 hours and Ipil to Zamboanga City is 4 hours.
