About 60 investment industry professionals celebrated Scottish culture during a Burns Night hosted by the fund firm Abrdn.

Abrdn’s Luxembourg office shined a spotlight on Scottish cuisine, literature and music at its Burns Night on Thursday evening.

The cultural festivities followed a macroeconomic outlook by Sree Kochugovindan, a senior research economist at Abrdn.

Burns Nights celebrate the life and work of Scotland’s national poet, Robert Burns (1759-1796).

The evening feature performances by Blair Porter, a bagpiper from Aberdeen, and presentations of Scottish whisky by Stuart Cassells, global head of private client management and experience at The Macallan distillery and a former member of the Celtic rock band Red Hot Chilli Pipers.

Haggis was, naturally, on the menu.

Abrdn (pronounced “Aberdeen” as in Scotland’s third largest city) is an investment firm headquartered in Edinburgh with £535bn (€626bn) in assets under management.
