Okha – Bet Dwarka sea bridge construction completes; Load tests begin

Dwarka: Construction of a signature bridge over the Arabian sea connecting Bet Dwarka and Okha in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat is completed. It is learned that the bridge is at present undergoing a testing phase before its opening by Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi. The bridge’s carrying capacity was tested by placing 48 trucks over it. The trucks were carrying a 44,700 kg load when they were placed over the bridge. The bridge has been constructed at a cost of around Rs. 950 crore. Once all tests are done, the Prime Minister is expected to inaugurate it within the next couple of months. It’s worth noting that pilgrim place Bet Dwarka is so far accessible only by boat, but the new iconic sea bridge will make it possible to drive to Bet Dwarka. The project was conceived and kicked off by Prime Minister Modi. Its completion will give great relief to millions of pilgrims. The project is under implementation by the Central government.
