The National Congress of ANATO Agencies will be held in Pereira - Risaralda

It brings together more than 800 tourism entrepreneurs from Colombia to train in strategies that allow them to develop and grow their companies

After a strong and forceful application by the local authorities of Pereira and Risaralda to obtain the headquarters of the National Congress of Travel and Tourism Agencies, the National Board of Directors of ANATO decided to grant these destinations the 25th version of the most important academic event in the sector, which brings together more than 800 entrepreneurs in the sector to train in strategies that allow them to develop and grow their companies.

It will be in this region where an international academic agenda will be developed with the objective of strengthening the competencies of the entire tourism value chain in topics such as new technologies, leadership, customer service, innovation, etc.
 
“ANATO Coffee Axis Chapter worked constantly, with commitment and with the help of the mayor of Pereira and the Government of Risaralda to achieve this goal. Hosting this great event not only means opening the doors to the training of businessmen in the industry, it is also the possibility of showing them why, this region of Colombia is increasingly positioned as a destination for major events and congresses, and great tourist wealth, ”said Paula Cortés Calle, executive president of ANATO.
 
He added: “This is the first time that we will develop this academic event in Pereira and we are pleased that it is in a destination that has shown its interest in investing and preparing to strengthen its offer and that is seen in the positive figures in the arrival of foreign visitors . According to data from Migración Colombia, 32,310 tourists arrived in Risaralda in 2019, which represented a growth of 6.6% compared to 2018 ”.
 
It should be noted that Risaralda currently occupies the 13th position in receiving foreign visitors, being those from the following countries, who lead the list: United States with a 36% participation; followed by Spain (10%); Ecuador (5%); and other countries (49%).

In 2019, Pereira was the most visited city in Risaralda with a total of 28,473 travelers, which meant an 88% participation over the total visitors to the department and a variation of 5.5% compared to the previous year whose registration was 26,975 people.
