Jagalur constituency is located in the Davangere district of Karnataka and is one of the 224 constituencies in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. The election for the Jagalur Assembly seat is scheduled to be held on May 10, 2023, and around 191000 voters will be exercising their political mandate. This seat is reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates.

The electorate gender ratio in the constituency is 96.91 and the approximate literacy rate is 72 percent.

Jagalur Assembly Elections 2018
In the assembly election held in 2018, the Jagalur constituency witnessed a close contest between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress. The BJP fielded S.V. Ramachandra, while the Congress nominated H.P. Rajesh. In the end, it was S.V. Ramachandra who emerged victorious, winning the election by a margin of over 14,000 votes.
This Assembly seat comes under the Davanagere Lok Sabha constituency, which was won by the BJP in the 2019 election. GM Siddeshwara if BJP bagged the seat by securing 6,52,996 votes against Congress's HB Manjappa who got 4,83,294 votes.
