KARNATAKA Assembly Election 2023: Karnataka is all set to conduct elections in the 224-member Legislative Assembly on May 10 while the results for the high-stake polls will be declared on May 13. The state will witness a power tussle between the two main parties comprising the opposition Congress and the party in power BJP.
Siruguppa (ST) is a State Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the Bellary district and Central Karnataka region of Karnataka and is a part of the Koppal Parliamentary/Lok Sabha constituency.

This year, the Bharatiya Janta Party has given the ticket back to M S Somalingappa from the Siruguppa constituency, who is the current MLA from the seat. While Aam Aadmi Party has given the ticket to Lokesh Nayak and Congress has fielded BM Nagraj.
There are a total of 1,99,425 voters in the constituency that include general voters, NRI voters and service voters. Amongst the general voters 99,101 are male, 1,00,285 female and 23 others. The electorate gender ratio in the constituency is 101.18 and the approximate literacy rate is 53 percent.
Siruguppa 2018 Assembly Elections
Siruguppa is an assembly constituency in Karnataka. In 2018, this constituency was won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Siruguppa comes under Bellary district of Karnataka State. In 2018, M.s. Somalingappa of the Bharatiya Janata Party won the seat by defeating B. Murali Krishna of the Indian National Congress with a margin of 21271 votes.

INC won this seat in the 2013 Karnataka Assembly Elections with a margin of 21,814 votes (17.21%) securing 51.66% of the total votes polled. In 2013 the seat witnessed a voter turnout of 74.56%. BJP won this seat in the 2008 Assembly Elections with a margin of 4,824 votes (4.19%) registering 37.7% of the votes polled. In the 2018 elections this seat witnessed a voter turnout of 74.35%.
