Personal: Born in San Francisco...nickname is "Papa Surge"...parents are Rene and Consuelo...has two brothers Jonny and Leo...enjoys baseball and bowling...favorite food is papusas and tamales...other favorites include the movies Step Brothers and Dumb and Dumber and athlete Nolan Ryan...in 10 years he would like to be playing Major Leauges Baseball or running his own business...chose HPU because of the good business program.

Prior To HPU: A graduate of South San Francisco High School in San Francisco...lettered in baseball under Coach Matt Schaukowitch...earned Pitcher of the Year in 2005 and 2006...earned All-Conference pitcher in 2006...attended Skyline Community College in San Bruno, California...lettered in baseball under Coach Dino Nomicos...awarded First-Team pitcher in 2008.  

HPU: Begins second season. 2010: Saw action in nine games, mainly in a relief role...went 2-0 on the season...posted a 3.77 ERA, pitching a total of 14 and one-third innings allowing six earned runs and totalling 13 strikeouts...pitched 5.1 innings with six strikeouts in his first start (4/10).
