We were struck by the fact that there was lots of space and that the other well-separated properties were all set back around a circle of grass,” say the current owners. “It’s a close-knit community with an active village hall, which is available to hire. The committee run several events, including race nights, quizzes, a New Year lunch club and I even remember being the compere for a visiting folk band! The Addison Arms pub is just a short walk away and we always remember to bring a torch for the walk home! The village has been opposed to street lighting, in order to preserve the low light pollution, and we are therefore rewarded with a canopy of stars and a clear view of the impressive night sky.” “We enjoy playing golf at Brampton Park, which is just a short drive away in Huntingdon, or occasionally we play closer at Elton Furze. The local bus from nearby Sawtry, takes us directly into Cambridge, which is always nice for a day out, and Peterborough is around a half an hour drive away.” “We’ve enjoyed developing the garden over the years, it’s very private with a couple of grassed areas where our grandchildren play and kick their ball around.
