WHITEHOUSE FARM Whitehouse Farm is a very spacious four bedroom bungalow tucked away in a quiet location on the edge of the picturesque village of Hanbury. The property was originally built in the 1990’s from materials that once formed an old agricultural building giving it many redeeming features inside such as beams and exposed timbers. The bungalow sits in circa three quarter of an acre of land with a triple garage and is surrounded by open countryside.

Accommodation Summary Whitehouse Farm is approached through an oak door and into a tiled Entrance Hall with handy storage cupboards for coats and shoes. This leads into the Inner Hall which is large and welcoming and is the central hub of the bungalow. The property has all of the accommodation on one floor and it all leads off from the Inner Hall including the stunning, extensive Sitting Room which has vaulted beamed ceilings and timbers throughout and a large brick inglenook fireplace with a gas effect stove. The current owner has a formal Dining Area at one end of the lovely large room and has doors leading to the large Conservatory which faces the garden and is a very useful space. The Utility Room has a sink and space for washing machine and tumble drier. The well-proportioned country Kitchen has a gas fired Aga and oak cupboards with an island, and is the hub of the home with a door leading to the driveway and garaging area. The huge lounge is the room that I’d say really has that wow factor,” says Elizabeth. “It’s very large and it has exposed woodwork that comes down to partially divide the space, so I’ve been able to use one end as a more formal dining area. It also has exposed beams and a very nice fireplace so although it’s a big room, it has a very cosy atmosphere.”

Seller Insight Tucked away, in a quiet location on the edge of the picturesque village of Hanbury, is Whitehouse Farm, a very spacious bungalow that boasts a large and extremely attractive garden. “I’d say it was a combination of both the bungalow and the location that sold this property to my husband and I when we came across it twenty-three years ago,” says Elizabeth. “Previously we’d lived on a farm, but when we decided to downsize we knew that a little house on an estate just wasn’t going to work for us. This property offered a superb amount of manageable space, both inside and out, and a good degree of peace and privacy all in a location that, although quite rural, doesn’t feel cut off from civilisation. In short, for us it ticked all the boxes.” “The bungalow was built back in the early 1990s so it was fairly new when we came here, but it’s been beautifully constructed from materials that once formed an old agricultural building so it doesn’t look like a modern building, which fits in very nicely with this gorgeous countryside setting. It has a traditional layout and all of the rooms are very generously proportioned, and there are nice features such as beams and exposed timbers that give it a real sense of character. The layout flows very nicely and there are rooms that are quite flexible in terms of how they are used so the accommodation can essentially be adapted and changed depending on your needs.” “The bungalow sits on around three quarters of an acre of land and, as well as a huge driveway, there’s also a triple garage so there’s plenty of parking when people come to visit,” continues Elizabeth. “The garden itself is mainly laid to lawn, and it also incorporates lots of pretty trees and shrubs that create a good degree of colour and interest all year round. We’ve designed it to be as low maintenance as possible, but it could be an absolute dream for a keen gardener; there’s tremendous scope to develop it further.” “What I’ve enjoyed most about the location is the fact that, although these picturesque surroundings give you the feeling of being away from it all, in reality everything is within easy reach. Worcester, Droitwich and Bromsgrove have a good selection of shops and amenities and are all just minutes away by car.” “Being surrounded by so much beautiful countryside makes this a lovely place for walking and there are some gorgeous places to visit. Hanbury Church, the Jinney Ring Craft Centre and the beautiful Hanbury Hall are all just a stone’s throw away, and they are just a few examples of the lovely places we have in the local area. In my opinion this is a location that would be hard to better.” “The space, the utter peace and tranquillity, the sense of privacy… all the things that attracted me to the property in the first place are the things that I’ll miss when I go,” says Elizabeth. “I can honestly say that I’ve been extremely happy living here for the past twenty-three years.”* * These comments are the personal views of the current owner and are included as an insight into life at the property. There is a path which leads to the front door and extensive front gardens which have views across the open countryside of Hanbury. There are three large garages, two of which have electrically operated doors and one which is used mainly for storage purposes. The gardens to the rear are mainly laid to lawn with mature trees and well stocked flower beds. There is a useful garden shed which will be included in the sale.
