World Thinking Day 2022: Our World, Our Equal Future! by Cadet GS Gabrielle Nissi Abarquez As the world commenced the World Thinking Day 2022 with the theme, "Our World, Our Equal Future," Girl Scouts of GSP Pangasinan Council joined this annually celebrated international fellowship and clasped the opportunity to voice out the issues that affect the young women. It is as is that the Girls in Green of Pangasinan Council was able to bring interaction, peace, and connection to the world. To formally connect the Girls and Titas to the world, the Pangasinan Council prepared three activities that raised the awareness and concerns of the Girls Scouts regarding the world issues that are equally important to what we seek in the future. On February 22, the activity conducted was entitled "Explore," where the Girls can learn about each nation's culture, traditions, and symbolism that reminds us of what that country is. It is a great starting point for learning about the world - the commencement of world connection. After being one with the world, we seek awareness for inclusivity and equality that pave the way for the council to carry on the Day 2 activity called "Gender Equality," which supports the notion that anyone can do what others can, too. Finally, on the 3rd Day of celebrating #WTD2022, they were down to one last activity that concerns everyone and the world's one of the critical issues it faced - Environmental problems. "Take Action" exercise challenged the Girls in Green to go green and be climate advocates with their peers. With these activities, the results are more than just placements - it is awareness. The GSP Pangasinan Council - World Thinking Day 2022 Core Team led by Sr. GS Princess Nikki Trinanes, assisted by Cdt. GS Effi Louise Alcantara, Cdt. GS Gabrielle Nissi Abarquez (Content Lead), Cdt. GS Kristine Ventura (Assistant Content Lead), Cdt. GS Mary Blezzy Carino (Creative Lead), Cdt. GS Aila Mae Evangelista (Assistant Creative Lead), and Cdt. GS Lea Kristine Angeleo and Cdt. GS Althea Tabayoyong (Social Media Managers), consulted by Cdt. GS Melody Estrada, Cdt. GS Aira Collene Ragos, Cdt. GS Charlotte Jobe De Ocampo, Cdt. GS Rosemarie Tabayoyong, and Sr. GS Elizy Lynneth Alcantara, facilitated by Ms. Brisha Eryka Recto (Adult Facilitator), and Mrs. Eufemia De Guzman (Council Executive), were successful in making the event possible despite the pandemic that shifted us to interact virtually. They indeed connected the Girls and Titas to the world, raised consciousness about global issues, and crucially, the participants were able to care and take responsibility for our future.
𝗦𝗘𝗘𝗗-𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆: 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗻𝗲'𝘀 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲: 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘆𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 by Tita Brisha Eryka Faye Recto To show support for the environmental sustainability the Pangasinan Girl Scout Council in partnership with JJC Lingayen Golden Lions joins together in the implementation of the said project entitled: "𝗦𝗘𝗘𝗗-𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆: 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗻𝗲'𝘀 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲: 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘆𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 to be held on 23rd - 26th of April 2022. Project SEED-CURITY is a sustainable project that is consist of various activities and projects intended for the development, protection and rehabilitation of forest, habitats, as well as promotion of food security within the family households. The project, backyard/container gardening, was implemented and participated in by the organization as well as the other partner organizations, PYDRRM, Supreme Student Government of Labrador NHS, Bayambang NHS, Manaoag NHS, Calasiao Comprehensive NHS and Mangatarem NHS, Labrador NHS YES-O and JCI Lingayen Bagoong where they planted fruit bearing plants in their containers and put it in their backyards. As part of this project, a tree planting effort will be held at Daang Kalikasan in Mangatarem, Pangasinan in June or July as continuation of this project in order to sustain the needs of our environment
Girls in Green: Taking Action on Climate Change by Cadet GS Royce Ann E. Bartolome
Climate change is a global health emergency that has the potential to undo decades of progress in health and development, to inflict widespread human misery, to exacerbate global health inequities, and to jeopardize the environmental and economic systems that we rely on for survival.
Cadet GSJhasmin Grace The GSP Pangasinanby Council held various activities as Nicomedez part of the World Thinking Day 2022 Celebration, which is a journey for Girl Scouts and Girl Guides to become environmentally responsible leaders. One of them is Take Action. All registered girl scouts were required to engage in this activity, which included tree planting and a clean-up drive. At a time when the world is experiencing unprecedented heat, flames, and storms, leaders must assess and reaffirm their commitments to climate change. Today, we must recognize that we have a moral obligation to our world and ecosystem. Climate change is difficult to reverse. However, if we all work together, our small efforts will have a large impact on our environment and world. The climate is changing, so should we!
PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT SPONSORS 2000 GSP MEMBERSHIP REGISTRATION S.Y. 2021-2022 The Provincial Government of Pangasinan under the leadership of Governor Amado I. Espino, III sponsored 2,000 girls and 500 Adult Members in the membership registration for year 2021-2022. Governor Espino gave his 100% support to GSP programs and activities through the free use of provincial facilities during girl scouting events of Pangasinan Council. He’s tangible and intangible support to particularly in the Pangasinan Girl Scout Council keeps girl scouting in Pangasinan alive even amidst the Pandemic situation. To Governor Amado I. Espino, Kudos and Mabuhay Po Kayo!
PRACTICE GENDER EQUALITY by Senior GS Princess Anika Pregillana Gender Equality enables individuals to freely express themselves and their identity because of its power to make people feel safe, loved, protected, and valued by society. Even though a lot of programs and projects were already implemented, it’s evident that gender inequality and gender discrimination are still rampant today. The stigma of being different in terms of gender and can not be fully accepted by society, still hunt its victim which then affects the way they think, decide, and organize themselves as part of society. Thus, it’s very crucial for us to be aware of these differences, our rights, and what we can do to make spaces that value the gender spectrum. Taking the time to listen, scrutinize, comprehend, and engage in discussion that can improve things does not appear to be a bad idea. In line with this, the Girl Guides and Girl Scouts all around the world celebrate World Thinking Day (WTD) every 22nd of February, and this celebration was as well commemorated by the GSP Pangasinan Council. Twinkler and Star Girl Scouts, together with their Troop Leaders from different schools, cooperatively participated in the activity for the second day, “Practice Gender Equality,” thru a Drawing Contest with the theme “Our World, Our Equal Future.” On the other hand, the Junior, Senior, and Cadet Girl Scouts participated in essay writing, with the theme “My Role as Changemaker in creating a better future.” As change-makers, we should assist in developing inclusivity and on how a gender-equal society can benefit us. We should all value gender equality and progressively engage in different advocacies advocating a safe and healthier place for EVERYONE.
WTD DAY 1: Discovering, Accepting, and Growing Despite Differences by Senior GS Clyne Marianne de Quiroz
Discovering something new is fun right? That's why our council offered an activity where all our girls can participate! It's not just a fun adventure to learn about other countries' cultures but to learn the importance of it as well. Being different from one another's races gives all of us a great impact when it comes to our lifestyles. Such as huge walls between one another that leads to discrimination. Activities like this provide us awareness, not just something our eyes can meet. Namely the culture, tradition, or history of a country. As a result, we'll be more open and eventually learn to accept what was once peculiar to us. This will bring us to a better version of ourselves as a member of this tangled society. A world that longs for mature men and women, that will stand despite the differences. And that's the vision of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines. To bring out the best of us, not just as a simple member of the organization but being a part of the bigger picture, a complex yet wonderful world.

It is indeed true that whenever we feel that green passion and desire to make big, great changes for good, it will be a success, as the passion and desire came from strong, will-driven girls. These girls, despite setbacks and difficulties, are never afraid to break barriers. This year’s World Thinking Day Celebration Core Team was led by Sr. GS Princess Nikki Trinanes (Event Lead), Cdt. Effi Louise Alcantara (Asst. Event Lead), Cdt. GS Gabrielle Nissi Abarquez (Content Lead), Cdt. GS Kristine Ventura (Assistant Content Lead), Cdt. GS Mary Blezzy Carino (Creative Lead), Cdt. GS Aila Mae Evangelista (Assistant Creative Lead), and Cdt. GS Lea Kristine Angeleo and Cdt. GS Althea Tabayoyong (Social Media Managers), together with Cdt. GS Melody Estrada, Cdt. GS Aira Collene Ragos, Cdt. GS Charlotte Jobe De Ocampo, Cdt. GS Rosemarie Tabayoyong, and Sr. GS Elizy Lynneth Alcantara as Girl Consultants. The 3day event was facilitated by Ms. Brisha Eryka Recto (Adult Facilitator), and Mrs. Eufemia De Guzman (Council Executive). The said celebration wouldn’t be successful if not for these amazing girls who gave their all, and who used their talent and leadership skills to fight for equality.
