BLAKESBURG, IOWA — For over 100 years Blakesburg, Iowa residents have been coming together for the annual Corn Carnival.
This year’s weekend-long event kicked off Friday afternoon with fun-filled activities for family and friends.
Corn Carnival President Tracy Brittain says the event is meant to reunite the community one last time before summer’s over.
“It’s just a way to get the community together before things get cold and nobody wants to do anything,” said Brittain.
In keeping with the tradition, folks will get to enjoy carnival rides, live music and a car show.
The Corn Carnival runs through Sunday evening.
