Body found at Blakesburg park ruled suicide

BLAKESBURG, Iowa — Authorities say a man whose body was found at a park in downtown Blakesburg died in an apparent suicide.

Wapello County deputies were called to investigate the man’s death at Blakesburg City Park Friday afternoon.

His body had been discovered by a civilian.

Investigators say the man died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

His death is not considered suspicious.
