At least 120 truck drivers in Paveh, Kermanshah province, have stopped working since 5 December and have joined the nationwide general strikes by truck drivers across Iran.

In the past few days, the Public Relations of the Road Maintenance and Transportation Department of Paveh threatened and pressured the truck drivers to force them to end the strike.

Reportedly, they sent private text messages, or public messages through WhatsApp groups, and asked the drivers to return to work.

In the messages, the striking drivers have been threatened with the deactivation of their smart cards and the cut off of their diesel rations.

Reportedly, the messages were sent by orders of Shahriari, the head of the office of the Ministry of Road and Transportation in Paveh, and Sayfour Gholami, a collaborator of the security institutions in the city.
