Bern and Basil are 90 short away. Originally the Record Watch Factory in a 100 year old building in a small local village called Les Pommerats. It's a local farm village with the clip clop of horse hooves. L'EGLISE PAROISSIALE ST-PIERRE ET PAUL DES POMMERATS is a church that was built in 1783... with it's bells ring constantly heralding the hour, half hour and quarter hour.

The rooms are spacious and very IKEA-elk... one of the owners is an artist and his works is in every room.

The bathrooms... the toilet and shower are separate and the shower pressure beats you clean with fresh well water....lovely

Look out the huge windows to cows and terra cotta roofs of 100 year old buildings.

You have choices of fully furnished rooms with kitchens and living rooms... down bed covers with soft, smart looking duvets. Fresh towels... all the coffee and tea your heart desire. If you want beer or wine give them notice and they will provide it at additional price.

Their is a local brewery called BFM Brewry named best beer in the world by The NY Times. Tours are given and can be specially arranged by the patrons of this lovely place.

There are paths to ponds that go nowhere. The French border greets you out the north window.

Little restaurants with fresh trout.. a walk across the border to France.

Depending on the time of year, you can go cross country skiiing... summers are for horseback riding. Climbing is one of the favorite pastimes.

20 minutes away is a national park called "étang de la Gruère" which means black bog. Get in! It is supposed to be medicinally good for what ails you.

I want to come back in the winter... I want to see everything blanketed in white...

It does not matter where I go in Switzerland, I will rent a car in Zurich, drive here to Les Pommerats and then decide where I want to go from here.
