About the Business
Established in 1912. For over a century, Otterbein has remained committed to providing senior housing options that prioritize respect and foster a sense of community. Originally established in 1912 as the United Brethren Orphanage and Home for the Aged, Otterbein transitioned its focus to elder care in the 1960s. Recognizing the changing needs of seniors, Otterbein took the lead in introducing innovative solutions for senior living, including pioneering some of the first Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) in the country. Expanding its range of services, Otterbein constructed independent living residences, care communities, nursing homes, and small house neighborhoods to cater to diverse needs. In 2012, we joyfully commemorated our 100th anniversary, embracing a future filled with possibilities to enhance the overall well-being and quality of life for older individuals.
