Every once in a while I like to go elegant 'hi-end'. This place is just that. Serving only the absolute exclusive goods (e.g. Blue Mountain Coffee). Waffle with amazing local rich dark chocolate. All served perfectly. Not for the budget traveler, but the value is there. Great experience.
This is a good way to kick off a weekend in Bruges, Belgium!

Oh my word. I love this place. Love. There are few spots in the world that feel like the portal to dessert heaven, but this is one of them. On a trip that included many many memorable restaurant stops, Sorbetiere was one of the best, if not the best. The food was spectacular, the ambiance was wonderful, and the service was attentive. I don't even really remember what I ate, but it doesn't matter, since I was in a heavenly daze the entire time. I do have very clear memories of the coffee and dessert though. You could order a dessert sampler with coffee, so we went for that. The sampler was a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. And the cappuccino was heavenly, light and frothy with a rich deep coffee taste. Add to that the fact that they serve your coffee with a selection of gorgeous sugar cubes (three different types of sugar all in different shapes), and I can't give Sorbetiere enough stars. Can I give it 10 stars, Yelp?
