So glad we were within walking distance to this wonderful store. We opted to have their breakfast each morning and were able to stock up our house quite nicely with groceries, dairy, candles, coffee, wine and local beer. Just wish they offered more fresh produce but overall a lovely spot with nice prices and friendly staff.

Nice sized store with plenty of souvenir goodies to pick up including some maple syrup made at a farm I'm the area.
They have a dining area and you can order food at the register. We weren't hungry on our stop so we didn't get to try anything but they did seem to have a nice sized menu to choose from.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sam B.NJ, NJ086Oct 15, 2023
Great store. Great selection. Great food. Completely obnoxious woman at the register. My friends and I ordered lunch there, and bought some beer from the massive selection they have. We sat down to eat, opened our beers and had a great lunch. Towards the end of our meal, she came running over SCREAMING at us that we can't drink the beer in the store. Maybe a sign or two stating as such would be good? But her obnoxious manner and screaming at us was complete bullshit. What an obnoxious Karen. Fire her, and your store is 100% killer!

Customer service is horrible, actually quite nasty. Food is mediocre. Nothing special about this place.

This a really nice country store! Very warm and welcoming. They have a good assortment of many of the typical food items that you might find in a country general store, but I stopped in around midday and decided to have lunch. Everyone working at the store was very pleasant, and food was outstanding! I had a bowl of clam chowder- great flavor and loaded with clams and potatoes. In addition I had a bacon cheeseburger with cheddar. Great quality beef, delicious bacon, and a nicely warmed soft role. The burger was cooked perfectly- nice and juicy. I fished my meal with a large chocolate chip cookie with walnuts and a cup of coffee. Both were were very good. I will definitely stop here again when I'm in the area.

This place is the definition of a Vermont country store. From the time walking in to sitting down the environment is stellar. After riding down the trails for the morning we decided to grab a bite to eat here and even the prices were fantastic. I ended up getting a grilled cheese with bacon but also a turkey sandwich with pears on it which I found excitingly tasteful. I've gone to this place twice this past winter and both times have been leaving full and happy with my experience. If you still want a little treat on the way out snag a maple hard candy from the store area, they're terrific.

The new owners have had about a month or so to settle in. They've brightened the place up, improved the kitchen, gotten rid of the tchotchkes and substituted displays of local veggies, a cooler of local cheeses, and have stocked up on good beer. Lawson's Sip o' Sunshine was plentiful in the cooler each day this past weekend. Breakfast today was the burrito, a blueberry muffin, and a ham, egg & cheese on english. Excellent. In fact, I think this was the best blueberry muffin I've had. Not too sweet, just great.
They were doing a booming business, as they should since they're right on top of things.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Aug 22, 2017Previous reviewThe new management at the SoWoCoSto have upgraded the looks of the place, and Alison's baked goods are as delicious as ever. We enjoyed a strawberry muffin today - so good. The sugar donuts are wicked good too, especially dunked. Their breakfast is excellent - fresh sausage, farm fresh eggs and cheese on English is a fave - but can't nudge the SoWoCoSto Burrito out of best breakfast around. Suggest that you arrive hungry, as it's big.
The coffee is good too.

Stopped here with my buddy along the snowmobile trails with the intent of grabbing just a light bite, but ended up biting off more than we could chew, mainly because everything looked so delicious. The clam chowder was in my top 5. My buddy wanted the cod sandwich. The co-owner originally told us they were out, but made it happen with what little they had left and even went as far as to lower the price of the sandwich. Super accommodating. The homemade cookies were unreal. Try the Heath bar and the oatmeal raisin, not one or the other. Both.
Total Mom and Pop shop. An immaculate, authentic Vermont deli/store at its finest. A hidden gem in the middle of nowhere with lots of local goods. Obvious supporters of other local businesses, including milk from Thomas Dairy. Wonderful hospitality from the owner. I will definitely make it a point to visit again on my next trip to central Vermont.
Between the soup, sandwich, two cookies, a Thomas Dairy milk, a Stewart's root beer and an iced tea, our total came to $24. Very reasonable.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Ellen L.Houston, TX081Aug 25, 2019
This is a great country store with lots of charm. The coffee and sandwiches are excellent. They have a terrific gluten free selection including pancakes on Sunday!
