Benito Soliven is indeed the most intriguing and one of the unknown municipalities in Isabela. Officially the Municipality of Benito Soliven is a 4th class municipality in the coastal province of Isabela, in the islands of Luzon, Philippines. The town is named after the late Benito Soliven, Congressman of Santo Domingo, Ilocos Sur, during the Commonwealth government, founded in the year 1967.

The municipality of Benito Soliven is situated nearly at the center of the Province of Isabela. It is bounded on the north by the municipality of Ilagan, the capital town of the province; on the east by the town of San Mariano; on the west by the municipalities of Naguilian and Cauayan City. Based on the great-circle distance (the shortest distance between two points over the surface of the Earth), the cities closest to the municipality of Benito Soliven are Ilagan City, Isabela, Cauayan City, Isabela, Santiago City, Isabela, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, Tabuk, Kalinga, and Baguio. The nearest municipalities are San Mariano, Isabela, Naguilian, Isabela, Reina Mercedes, Isabela, Gamu, Isabela, Luna, Isabela, and Quirino, Isabela.

Benito Soliven is complete with different facilities such as Rural Health Unit, different government establishments, Police and fire stations, a Public market, etc. This landlocked municipality consists of 29 Barangays/Barrios, with the total of 29,752 population.

Agricultural: products are corn, rice, vegetables, bananas especially banana blossom

Industrial

Fishery: different fishes caught in the river banks and fish ponds.

The annual regular revenue of Benito Soliven for the fiscal year of 2016 was ₱87,086,135.67. Although this town is one of the poorest and lacks funds because it still remains in the 4th class municipality, its officials under the leadership of Mayor Roberto Lungan are said to be trying to raise and improve the livelihood of the people by adjusting the streets to facilitate the release of their people’s products. Benito Soliven is an agricultural town where rice and corn are the major products. Most of the economic resources and livelihood is from these. The products present are corn, rice, bananas especially the banana blossoms, or what we commonly know as ‘Puso ng Saging’.

The ‘Puso ng Saging’ became the trademark and main product of Benito Soliven it became what the officials and people agreed on because bananas are one of the proud products of their town, they are thinking of using such a part of bananas so that it will be the symbol of their festival, celebrated every 20nd of March every year, the ‘Sabunganay Festival

The tourist spots available in the municipality of Benito Soliven are Our Lady of Peace Parish Church and View Deck and Flower Park. The View Deck and Flower Park have a beautiful flower maze consisting of different flowers, perfect instagrammable spots, and Banchetto to have affordable and delicious treats.
