It looks like 2015 will be a busy year for American wave pop label ‘Italians Do It Better’ and its mastermind Johnny Jewel. The crafted musician and synthesizer lover recently announced the released of a long awaited new CHROMATICS album called Dear Tommy. Beisdes that it looks like we can also expect more new music from his second band, GLASS CANDY. At least that’s what various rumours say. And just to get us even more excited Mr. Jewel posted another song from his rich archives for free download via his Soundcloud page.
Miss Broadway is the name of the almost seven minute long tune which dates back to 2007. But this sparkling funky diamond, that perfectly fits to the back catalogue of Jewel and his band, hasn’t lost its magic over the past years. A pumping bass-line, smooth strings, the delicate voice of singer Ida No and the inevitable saxophone solo right at the end. Hypnotic and grooving – GLASS CANDY at their best. Like we said… further details on a new album are still missing but for tonight this wonderful piece of synthpop is all the music you need to face winter’s cold.
