My indoor only kitty got out about an hour ago and I cannot find her anywhere. She's scared of people and other animals but will always come to me with an open can of tuna. Not sure if it'll work for anyone else but please help me find her! Shes all grey with gold eyes and kind of petite. I'm so afraid shes going to get hit by a car or attacked or stolen. I'm in Amber Court apartments and I don't think she'd go too far..

A Washington County judge recently sentenced Cristian Michael Abarca to more than 12 years in prison after he was convicted of two counts of first-degree robbery. The defendant committed both robberies weeks apart by approaching victims who were coming and going from a corner market in Hillsboro. He was captured by Hillsboro police shortly after the second robbery. Investigators used DNA evidence recovered from the first robbery to link the defendant to both cases. We’d like to thank the Hillsboro Police Department for their work in arresting the defendant and returning the victim’s stolen property. Joshua Michael Best has been sentenced to 90 months in prison for his role in a 2022 attempted murder. Mr. Best and another woman assaulted an employee at a business in Washington County and were told to leave by a security guard. The defendant, who was already a convicted felon at the time and barred from possessing a firearm, then fired several rounds from his handgun toward the security guard as he drove away. Fortunately, no one was hurt in that shooting. Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff's Office identified the defendant as their suspect and he was later arrested in Portland. More than 7,000 messages exchanged over the span of a single month! An alert mother noticed concerning messages on her teenage daughter’s phone. She discovered that 36-year-old Daniel Rock, a doctor living in New York, was messaging her daughter and pressuring her to send nude photos of herself. She alerted police and experts with the Washington County Digital Forensics Laboratory examined the device. They found thousands of messages, photos, videos, and phone calls between the two. In one instance, Mr. Rock even forced her to share her live location, which was her high school. A judge convicted Mr. Rock on three counts and he will be sentenced later this month. This case serves as a reminder of the dangers children face online. Yesterday, a Washington County jury found David Anthony Baynes guilty of Murder in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. He was also convicted of Felon in Possession of a Weapon following a bench trial. In September of 2022, Mr. Baynes shot and killed the victim in an unprovoked attack. The defendant was in a relationship with the victim’s ex-girlfriend and was jealous of her continued contact with the victim. Following the shooting, he reset his phone, covered his truck with a tarp, and hid overnight in blackberry bushes to avoid detection. Despite these efforts, he was arrested the day after the shooting. Multiple agencies assisted with this investigation including the Forest Grove Police Department, the Beaverton Police Department, and the Washington County Major Crimes Team. The Yamhill County Sheriff's Office, Newberg-Dundee Police Department, and the Oregon State Police Forensic Lab also offered assistance. Mr. Baynes will be sentenced next month.
