SPECIAL ATTENTION Hurstbourne Lane // Taylorsville Road area !! Share this post!! On Wednesday April 17th, about 2:30pm, 6th Division officers were dispatched to a home in Hurstbourne Acres near Taylorsville Road on a home invasion / rape. Officers made contact with an elderly woman who told us she had a knock at her front door, when she answered the door, a suspect knocked her down and raped her in her home. The suspect stole belongings from the elderly woman before fleeing. Our Sex Crimes Unit (named OSPI) responded and are the lead investigators. The woman was transported to the hospital for treatment. OSPI detectives are still canvassing the area and interviewing neighbors. We're asking anyone that has any information to please use our anonymous tip line or our online crime tip portal. We'd love to find someone that might have images or video of our alleged suspect. He was described to us as a black male, thin build, short black hair, about 5'10" last seen wearing (on Wednesday at 2:30) a black shirt and either jeans or blue pants. We believe he fled on foot in the area. This type of incident is very troubling and very uncommon. We want the community in that area to be cautious, take the extra time to pay attention to your surroundings, and call 911 immediately if you feel you are in danger. LMPD will provide updates proactively as this case evolves. Any images or video we're able to gather will be disseminated through our social media and local media as well as Nextdoor.
