Godrano (Zip Code 90030) is 107 km. distant from Agrigento, 110 km. from Caltanissetta, 217 km. from Catania, 1298 km. from Enna, 249 km. from Messina, 41 km. from Palermo, which province it belongs to, 251 km. from Ragusa, 301 km. from Siracusa, 107 km. from Trapani.

Godrano

The municipality has 1.145 inhabitants and an area of 3.887 hectares for a density of population of 29 inhabitants per square kilometre. It rises on a mountainous internal area and is 730 metres above sea-level.

Godrano in the agricultural field has excellent products such as cereals and forages. The main breeding is the cattle-breeding; cattle are shown every year in the fair of cattle that takes place in September.

The name Godrano derives from Arabic Al Gudran that was a neighbouring lake now called "of the Scanzano". The very small town had a very good period between the XII and the XIII century thanks to its connection with the Norman village of Parco Vecchio.

In the XVI century the Lord Fabrizio Valguarnera built there a country house that became his permanent residence. Until the XVIII century it was inabited by the Lords Castello, Favara and Colonna-Cesarò.

The Cathedral Church has to be visited for its typical eighteenth-century architecture.
