TEZPUR, Sept 19: Subhankar Dey, a dedicated NSS volunteer from Rangapara, Sonitpur has brought laurels to the district. He is selected for National Service Scheme Award for the year 2020-21 in volunteer category which will be conferred by the President of India at Rashtrapati Bhawan on September 24.
A dedicated social activist Subhankar was awarded earlier with several awards including the Best Volunteer Award 2020 from Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education, Best Volunteer Award from Government of Assam, 2022, University Level Best NSS Volunteer Award from Governor of Assam, 2022, Best Volunteer Award from Rangapara Municipal Board and won gold medal at Anti-Tobacco and Cancer Prevention Programme.
Further, he attended National Integration Camp 2019 at Cuttack, Orissa, NSS National Youth Festival 2020 at Lucknow, NSSPRD Camp 2020 at Orissa and achieved second position at district level National Youth Parliament in 2019.
Subhankar is currently pursuing MA in Political Science in Gauhati University. He was a distinguished student activist of Rangapara College. He served as the president of the student union of Rangapara College.
