BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav paid a visit to Guna district hospital on Thursday to meet the victims of a devastating road accident that occurred last night. The accident claimed the lives of 13 people and left 16 others injured.
Earlier today, CM Yadav initiated an investigation into the accident and assured that strict action would be taken against those responsible.
Expressing his sorrow, he stated, "It is a sad incident. I am in constant contact with the Collector and SP. I am visiting Guna right now. I have ordered an investigation. We will find out how the accident took place and take strict action against the people responsible for this."
According to the police, a passenger bus collided with a dumper truck and caught fire on Guna-Aron Road last night, resulting in the tragic loss of 13 lives and injuries to 16 others. The injured victims are currently receiving treatment at the district hospital.
CM Yadav also expressed hope that the administration would take necessary measures to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future. He said, "I stand with the families of all the deceased in this hour of grief. Our sympathies are with the injured. We are hopeful that the administration will make arrangements to ensure that no such incidents happen again."
The police reported that the bus was en route from Guna to Aron. The vehicle departed from Guna at 8 pm and the accident occurred at 8:30 pm. Approximately 30 passengers were on board at the time of the collision.
"It crashed into a dumper at top speed. We recovered 12 bodies from the scene, while 14 injured passengers were rushed to the district hospital," stated Guna Superintendent of Police Vijay Kumar Khatri.
