PANCHKULA: The president of
Haryana Poultry Farms Association, Darshan Singh, on Wednesday moved a complaint against a resident of Barwala for disturbing market price of eggs. For the last 10 years, it is the association that decides the prices of eggs.
In his complaint, the president stated that egg farmers were losing their business. Following the plaint, the city cops have registered a case under criminal intimidation.
Singh, who has been the president of Haryana poultry farm association for the last three-years, told cops that a resident of Barwala, Mohammad Ashad, made a WhatsApp group — Aanda mandi.com — and disturbed the market prices of eggs by tying up with some local traders.
Singh said that Haryana poultry farmers association first discusses poultry rates with members of Delhi poultry farm association and then finalises final prices before implementing them. “However, Mohammad on the WhatsApp group has been changing prices and disturbing the market for the last six months,” the president said.
“When I requested Mohammad to not disturb the market, he abused me on the group,” Singh added.
As of now, cops have registered a case under Section 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the
Indian penal code at Chandimandir police station. The investigation is on.
