Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar inaugurates Daiki Axis India’s Johkasou Plant at Palwal

PALWAL: Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday inaugurated a Johkasou plant at Palwal launched by Japanese water treatment solutions provider Daiki Axis India, a 100% subsidiary of Daiki Axis Japan.
With a capacity of 1,000 Johkasou units per year, the plant is equipped with Japanese 'Johkasou' technology, used for treating and reusing domestic wastewater.The company invested Rs 200 crores in setting up this sewage water treatment plant in Palwal. The system is suitable for treating both grey and black water.
Recently a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) was signed between the PMs from both the countries in March this year to implement the Johkasou technology and concept in India. Daiki Johkasou-STP technology offers a unique combination of long shelf life and simple maintenance while offering high treatment performance. The small and mid-size packaged plants are fully automated and do not require full time operators.
India currently treats only 34% of domestic wastewater. In 2019, a policy to treat wastewater was introduced by the Haryana government, according to which 80% of the waste water will be treated and used by 2030. As a way of mitigating the freshwater crisis in the state, the Haryana government has laid out a policy on treated wastewater.
However, technological intervention is essential for addressing this challenge. It will also require skill sets, experience, and handholding to make the policy successful. Thus, the Haryana government has collaborated with Daiki Axis India Pvt. Ltd. to enhance its water conservation plan by reusing and recycling domestic wastewater across the state. With over 60 years experience and 20 lakh global installations, Daiki Axis is an expert in decentralised wastewater management and Johkasou technology.
The project aims to address the state's sanitation, environment, and water issues, as well as generate investment, circular economy, employment, and capacity building among users.
Speaking about the launch, CM, Manohar Lal said, " Water is life and the most exquisite gift of nature. Water is a precious resource, and we should make a collective effort to conserve it. This sewage water treatment facility is a ground-breaking move in the right direction towards ensuring that water can be recycled and reused for a variety of purposes. Currently, it is being implemented in Palwal but will be extended across the state once we evaluate its effectiveness.".
