Magadi Constituency Election Results: Assembly seat details, MLAs, candidates & more
Magadi is one of the 224 constituencies in Karnataka which goes to polls on May 10. It is also part of Bangalore Rural Lok Sabha constituency.
In the 2018 assembly elections, Janata Dal (Secular) leader A Manjunath won from Magadi seat by defeating Indian National Congress' (INC) HC Balakrishna.
Balakrishna had emerged victorious in 2013 as a JD(S) candidate.
In the 2013 assembly elections, Manjunath had fought as a Congress candidate.
In 2008 Karnataka assembly elections too, Balakrishna won from Magadi seat as a JD(S) candidate.
Magadi assembly constituency recorded a voter turnout of 86.37 per cent in 2018.
In the 2018 assembly elections, BJP had won 104 out of 223 seats that the party had contested. The Congress and JD(S) together won 117 seats in 2018.
Assembly elections in Karnataka will be held in a single phase on May 10 and the results will be declared on May 13. For the elections, 58,282 polling stations will be set up in the state.
There are a total of 5.21 crore voters in Karnataka and the number of 100+ voters is 16,976.
The term of the 224-member Karnataka assembly ends on May 24.
