The Continental Branch of Australia in Kambera

If Australia has the City of Canberra, Indonesia also has its “twin” area called Kambera. Not only the name, the natural conditions are the same as we usually see in Australia. Yes, Savanna Puru exactly. Kanbera which stores a lot of fantastic destinations is now part of the tourist’s mandatory itinerary.

savana purru

There is no denying the beauty of this savanna. Located on the edge of the blue ocean, we will never be bored looking at it. The horses that graze add to the impression of the wild-west in Texas in the past. Imagine cowboys riding their horses gallantly while carrying guns to eradicate crime.

Bonus :

It looks like this bonus will be more than the main upload. Actually this is continued from the previous upload. Let’s look at the photos!

1. Mondu Hills

8d96d611139db692bddf5a08986c0199

Still in one location with Savanna Puru, in my opinion these hills are the most beautiful among all the hills on Sumba. The hills that are still beautiful and quiet represent the beauty of the island of Sumba as a whole. You can see several small churches standing sweet in the middle of the snaking hilly contours.

2. Wairinding Hills

Wairinding.jpg

This charming green hills are a favorite choice for pre-wedding photos for young couples. Photos of family, friends and models are also often done here. So do not be surprised if this tour has begun to be known to people and has been rather crowded there. If you want to come when it’s quiet, come here in the morning. Besides still quiet, the morning sun will also enhance your photos. Pambotanjara, Waingapu City, East Sumba Regency

3. Mauliru Hills

Back in Kambera, there are more natural carpets that tempt us to roll over them, namely Mauliru Hills. This hill is also known as the Thousand Hills by local tourists, and also Hills of Brotherhood by local residents. This hill is also similar to the hills of Sumba that I have uploaded before, but from this hill we can see the City of Waingapu through a viewing post at the top of a hill. Unnamed Road, Mauliru, Kambera, Kabupaten Sumba Timur, Nusa Tenggara Tim.

4. Waihungu Beach

img_9117

If we talk about Sumba it’s endless. Very much beautiful and charming tourism. One of them is Waihungu beach which is located in South Sumba and is 162 kilometers from the center of Waingapu. This beautiful beach is surrounded by white cliffs and is one of the favorite places for photo hunting. Come at sunset and you will see the cliffs change color from white to golden! Really romantic!

5. Salura Island

pulau halura ntt.jpg

Not far from Waihungu Beach, take a boat for a while and we have arrived at Salura Island. This island is one of the favorite destinations on the coast of East Sumba. Although relatively small, there are mountains on the island. Salura Island is Indonesia’s outer island so many red and white flags are flown there.

6. Kanabu Wai Waterfall

air terjun kanabu wai.jpg

East Sumba is indeed the region that has the most tourism among the other parts of Sumba. Kanabu Wai Waterfall is a combination of several waterfalls that form a clear blue pond in the interior of the forest. It is rather difficult to reach this waterfall that located in Laiwangi Wanggameti National Park. But all will be paid when you reach this waterfall with a cool and soothing shower.

Warming Yourself on the Driest Island in Indonesia

There is no doubt that Sumba is the driest island in Indonesia. The issue of water supply which is still the main issue of the island is still heard today. However, luckily under the current government water supply has increasingly reached the Sumba community so that their lives are now increasingly prosperous. However, behind the heat and dryness of Sumba, it turns out that the island is also the most beautiful island in Indonesia. I call it the “Resting Place of the Gods”

Actually I have reviewed about Sumba in previous uploads, however, after I searched further, Sumba still holds thousands of great diverse destinations. Whether it’s savanna, hills, beaches, lakes, dams, and others. Here are the places that I offer to you, Sumba!

Sumba, The Land of Dreams

Have you ever dreamed? You are in a beach with a curly tree, or in a bright blue lake, or even in a giant cave with a torrent of water. It’s all in Sumba! The island that can makes your dreams come true. The island is still less famous than its neighbor, Flores. Therefore, my task here is to introduce Sumba to those of you who are still groping about it. Its unique natural conditions, will spoil your eyes, whether it’s for its beauty, or its magic.

1. Waimarang Waterfall, East Sumba

air-terjun-waimarang

You are not yet in Sumba if you have not visited the waterfall waimarang. A mini oasis in the middle of a forest surrounded by gigantic cliffs, preserving the privacy of your bath session at this waterfall. The color of the water looks blue indicating how clean this mini oase is.

2. Bwanna Beach, Southwest Sumba

Bwanna Beach

You will not be able to speak anymore when you are standing on the beach of Bwanna, for it bewitches your eyes for its beauty. The cliffs that split the coast make you chuckle admiring the splendor of Sumba. Do not miss this beach if you are visiting the island of Sumba!

3. Lake Weekuri, West Sumba

4. Walakiri Beach, East Sumba

Walakiri waingapu.jpg

The magical world that Alice visited had a parallel door from Waingapu, East Sumba. This wonderland seems to convey us that there are still many corners of the world that we have not explored. These magical curly trees are real. And plus you can find it on the beach, not in the forest nor swamp.

5. Lake Laputi, East Sumba

laputi lake.jpg

“Mirror Mirror on The Wall, who is the fairest in the land?” all must have heard this narration from the story “Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs”. Yes, when the Queen always takes the time to ask the Magic Mirror to convince herself that she is still the most beautiful woman in the entire kingdom. But, have you ever thought that you can also do it at Lake Laputi? It’s so clear you can see your reflection like a real mirror! The water is clear and calm, blue and seductive, will reflect the real beauty of your face. Interested to try?

6. Matawai, East Sumba

Matawai

Just like the pictures you often see in National Geographic. If you think that this is a desert, you are not completely wrong or right, because Indonesia is a tropical country. It would be more precise if this area is called Savanna. The low rainfall on the island resulted in the creation of stunning barren areas like in the African, American, or Australian continents. You can see a bunch of wild horses running through the desert if you’re lucky.

7. Matayangu Waterfall, Central Sumba

Matayangu waterfall sumba.jpg

Matayangu means “The place of the baths of the fairies” in Sumbanese. As you can see, this place does say it. A basin of calm blue water from the stream of waterfalls, as if calling the fairies to bathe in it.  The moss growing on a giant cliff adds to the coolness of the waterfall.

8. Nihiwatu Beach, West Sumba

nihiwatu beach sumba.jpg

Probably the most famous place on Sumba Island. This beach has been visited by many domestic and international tourists during a long vacation. In addition to the scenic cliffs and beautiful green coast, the hotels and accommodation provided in this area also support the tourism at Nihiwatu Beach.

9. Tarimbang Beach, East Sumba

pantai-tarimbang-sumba.jpg

Again from East Sumba, although still a new tourist attraction but has attracted thousands of tourists. The beach is still quiet is also suitable for your honeymoon vacation. Sands on this beach is the brightest among the other beaches in Nusa Tenggara (Lesser Sunda Islands). The dead trees that grow on the lagoon complement the aesthetics of this beach. Plus you do not need an admission to enjoy Tarimbang, it’s free!

10. Tanggedu Waterfall, East Sumba

tanggedu.jpg

Still not moving on from East Sumba, an exotic Tanggedu waterfall will cool your hot days in Sumba. One of the wettest areas on the island has similar natural conditions like the Grand Canyon. The erosion-wall walls of the river form a stunning natural carvings. Immediately take off your clothes and enjoy the freshness of Tanggedu!

11. Waikelo Sawah Natural Caves , Southwest Sumba

Waikelo Sawah Natural Cafe.jpg

You do not want long sunburn out there? It’s Easy! Just visit Waikelo Rice Natural Caves. Actually, this place is a dam to irrigate the surrounding rice fields, but because of its beauty, it has now been transformed into a tourist spot. You can not swim in this Cave because of the large water flow. In essence, you should always keep the rules that apply there, for the sake of comfort and safety of you, and the local people.
