Mount Storm, WV (West Virginia), is an unincorporated rural community near the Allegheny Front in Grant County, West Virginia. Mount Storm may have been named for its inclement weather. It serves as a commercial center for a a large area of agricultural upland and has developed lies along U.S. 50 (the former Northwestern Turnpike) at its junction with W.Va. Route 42. The town is five miles north of the U.S. 48 expressway.

Five miles south of Mount Storm, Mount Storm Lake, also known as the New Stony River Reservoir, is a 1,200-acre reservoir created in 1965 by impounding the upper Stony River, a tributary of the North Branch of the Potomac River. A cooling pond for Dominion Energy's 1.6-gigawatt , the lake and facility help provide electricity to more than two million customers in northern Virginia. While the station is using the reservoir for cooling, warm temperatures in the clear lake permit swimming, boating, and water activities during in cooler weather. The station is a landmark in the Fallout 76 video game.
