DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– Emergency crews battled a two-alarm blaze in the Steelton Borough that destroyed multiple homes.

Firefighters were called to the 400 block of North 2nd Street Tuesday for a fire Tuesday just after 7:30 p.m., according to Steelton Fire Company Chief Gene Vance III.

When crews arrived on the scene just minutes after being called, Vance said that they saw a duplex with fire coming out the back and that it managed to catch the home next to it on fire.

Vance said that the fire involved three homes and that all of them were considered a complete loss. A total of eight people are displaced, Vance said.

There were no reported injuries and no word on what may have caused the fire. Officials say that the Dauphin County Fire Investigative Team was contacted and also responded to the event. It is being investigated by the Steelton Police Department, Steelton Fire Department as well.
